One more beautiful floral

Our cousin KJE, has a beautiful new Vera Bradley purse. I’ve been admiring it for a while, but now I know why–it has the same type of mini floral pattern that I just blogged about. Here is the fabric, from the Summer 2010 collection:
She has it in the “Alice” style which, according to the Vera website, is “Retro, vintage and stylish…The fabric-covered kisslock frame tops off this 1940s look while its many pockets organizes your essentials in a snap. There’s even a hidden front pocket for your phone or powder compact!”
 Adorable!

New Love

So, I think I have a thing for this garden inspired, mini-floral pattern.
First, I loved this dress.

Then I saw this tank top by “fire los angeles” at T.J. Maxx and had to get it in two different patterns because I loved it so much.

Then I got the new Anthropologie catalog and fell in love all over again.

 Especially with this shirt:

I love finding something that is SO me, especially in so many different realms. Let me know if you see anything similar to add to my collection!

Beautiful Things

So, I have been seeing a lot of beautiful things lately and thought I’d share.
1. I LOVE this dress. After seeing it on two friends in pictures on Facebook I finally found the brand and where to buy it, but unfortunately, it’s SOLD OUT (of course, because it’s so beautiful). So, if anyone knows where I can get my hands on one, let me know. I just love the fabric and think it’s so bright and summery.

2. Emerson Made. I ran into this site while reading NieNie’s blog and love everything it has to offer, especially this beautiful floral necklace. If you don’t know about NieNie, you should read her story.

3. Also found on NieNie’s blog was this beautiful necklace from The Vintage Pearl. NieNie’s says, “I love Christian” for her husband.
I am thinking about getting it in silver.
I love that it has a mother of pearl because Ben gave me this Pandora mother of pearl ring for my “push present.”
Don’t you love looking at beautiful things?

Beautiful Weekend

We had a very eventful and fun weekend! It began Friday with Murphy Summer Madness, the biggest party to ever hit Mt. Sidney! Ben’s dad planned this huge event at their office to network and promote their businesses, Village Bank Mortgage and Murphy Business Brokerage. AJH hung in there and partied the night away. She always amazes us with her ability to adapt and have fun in every situation, even at only three months old.
With Mommy, staring at something on the ground:
 With Daddy, still staring:
 Keeping cool in her shades:
There was a great turn out with delicious food, cold beverages and fun music by Bennie Dodd. Our good friend, Valerie McQueen, even stepped in to sing a few songs.
We always have a great time together and I’m so glad she moved to our little town.
I was very happy I also got to work with her on Saturday at Christopher William Jewelers for their big Customer Appreciation event. It was a very successful day and it was fun to be back in the store with good friends. After work we hit up Massaki in Staunton for some delicious sushi with the other ladies from the store and then I headed back to be with Ben and AJH for a cookout at Molly and Ryan’s.

Once again, AJH hung in there and was the best little girl.
On Sunday we were off for more fun at the Charlottesville Roanoke College Alumni picnic and wine tasting at King Family Vineyards in Crozet. It was so great to see old friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Ben is holding the right corner of the banner:

When we got home on Sunday, we took a short nap and then our power went out. It quickly got very hot so we took a family trip to the air conditioned Subway and then walked around the shaded trails at Grand Caverns in Grottoes. Henry is learning to walk on a leash, and did  a pretty good job. He REALLY wanted to jump in the river, but we didn’t let him this time. We’ll definitely have to bring him back for a swim sometime this summer. It was great to have some family time, just the four of us after a very long, busy weekend. Now we’re looking forward to next weekend for one of our favorite holidays–the 4th of July. I hope AJH likes the fireworks!!

Crooked Smile

Everybody seems to think AJH is starting to look more and more like her daddy.

I agree, she definitely has his coloring…

…but sometimes she really has the same little crooked grin of my mother.

 What do you think?
Or maybe she looks like her own Momma?
I think she definitely has my chin :)

Beautiful Sister

I recently got to spend the whole day with my beautiful younger sister, NGH. We had a big time. We started by eating lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then headed to T.J. Maxx where we spent 3 HOURS shopping. We had so much fun trying on clothes and I loved helping her pick out new outfits.
She really branched out and tried some new styles, and of course, with her long legs and model figure, she looked gorgeous in everything she put on.
She found she has a new love for rompers and gladiator sandals, and she can totally pull it off.
She was so excited about her new things that she went in to the dressing room at the store and changed after we paid!
She also talked me into getting some gold, T-strap sandals, even though I was a little skeptical. She said they were much more stylish than my Rainbow flip flops and so I gave it a whirl. After our shopping excursion we went for an amazing pedicure and couldn’t wait to show off our new shoes and beautiful toes!
All in all, it was a beautiful day and I wish we could do it more often!

Happy Father’s Day

Today was Ben’s first Father’s Day and AJH showered him with gifts. She gave him a book called, “I Love You, Daddy,” a VT tee shirt and a gift certificate to get a special scalp massage at Breezy Hill Day Spa. It also seemed like she gave him lots of extra smiles today…I think she knew what a special day it was and wanted him to know how much she loves him. Here they are today during “tummy time.”
Sometimes they tell secrets together, and that’s okay with me. I always knew Ben would be an amazing father, but seeing him with her is the most beautiful thing in the world to me.
He is PERFECT.

He is patient, he is loving, he is gentle and he is attentive.
He is wonderful and we love him.
Thanks for being the best daddy ever and supporting our family with all you do.
You make our dreams come true.
And of course, none of this would be possible without my ridiculously handsome hero of a dad.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers in my life!
