Turquoise Corner

I love this little turquoise chair and thought you would, too.

I picked it up randomly last fall from an antique booth at MaDee’s Market.

(If you’re interested in being a vendor at the market this fall, get more info. here. It’s a great cause!)

The awesome color and very attractive price tag caught my eye as I was literally walking out the door and I’m so glad I stopped to get it! Turquoise is my favorite color and I’ve enjoyed collecting bits and pieces in that shade to sprinkle around the house over the years.

I (more like my husband) didn’t think we had room for one.more.thing. but now that I put my cute little chair in this corner of our living room, I can’t imagine it NOT being there.

I’m really liking how it covers those unsightly cords.

It used to bother me that the color of the chair is not the exact same as the dresser, but I’m starting to embrace the ability to mix multiple shades of the same color rather than be too “matchy-matchy.”

What do you think?

P’s Picks: Turquoise Love 3

“P’s Picks” are things I am loving right now.

1. I don’t think I could find a more beautiful fabric than this butterfly print from Tucker for Target right now. I love the material, the colors, the butterflies…and I especially love that it looks a lot more expensive than $22.99.
2. I saw these turquoise Ashton Yippie Ki Yay boots by Old Gringo while flipping through a random catalog we got in the mail called “The Territory Ahead.” Obviously this is one of my favorite colors, and even though they might be a little bold in person, I think they are truly beautiful.
3. To complete my totally turquoise look, this Shaded Selvatico necklace by Anthropologie is one of my new favorite pieces. I would really love to be able to recreate something like this and think I have the materials to do it…I just need more time and some background on jewelry making. If anyone would like to help, let me know!

Turquoise! 6

For our FDHS “end of year celebration” at the Bistro last night I paired a shirt I found randomly at Belk with these awesome Payless wedges (only $14.99!). The shoes are one of my favorite finds of the season, though I can’t take full credit…you know the super-stylish junior I always talk about (K.M. you know who you are!), she got them first! I, of course, told her I was in love and she filled me in on her little secret!
