There is no quick fix

We all know that life is not about quick fixes, regardless of our patience or lack thereof.

I have seen some controversy about how a product I use and share is just a “quick fix” for those who are too lazy to eat a healthy diet and exercise.

Well, let me share my story.

I started the Paleo diet for health reasons when my daughter was six months old in January of 2013. I had lost all my baby weight and was at my pre-pregnancy weight of 130. I was generally happy with my physical appearance but I felt awful all the time—exhausted, anxious and in pain after every meal. I started following the Paleo lifestyle and exercising a few times a week, and by April of 2013 I had lost 12 pounds and felt amazing!

I had some extra skin on my stomach that wasn’t going anywhere despite my extremely healthy diet and exercise regimen. Like most mamas, I thought I was stuck with it and had resigned to wearing “Spanx” for the rest of my life on those special occasions. And honestly, I was okay with that. I didn’t “hate my body” or think I was “broken.” Would it be nice to see the abs hiding under all that extra skin? Sure!

I saw a friend’s results from the Ultimate Body Applicator and thought, “Cool! This would be amazing, even if it only “worked” for a couple hours and allowed me to not have to ever wear spanx again!” At the time I had no idea it would actually work a lot longer than a few hours!

I never thought I was being targeted, bullied, or shamed because of my post-baby body.

I never felt broken or less than because of the post I saw.

I just thought, “Cool! I bet all my friends would love this product!”

And I was right!

I am not here to “fix” anyone or anything. I am here to offer help and hope. This is not a quick fix, miracle, magical solution. This is a product that heals the skin and helps people along their journey.

I didn’t need a wrap to feel good about myself, and neither do you. Will it help? Maybe! Is it awesome? Yes! Is it okay to want to look sexy and feel confident? Of course! It does not make you vain or selfish to do so.

We all have things we want help with from our hair, to our skin, to our digestion. If we didn’t we would never go shopping, never get our hair done, never wear make-up, and never worry about diet or exercise.

I pray that my heart will be shown through my words and actions as I continue using these products and helping others to do the same. Much love!

Healthy for the Holidays Challenge: Day 1 1

healthy for the holidays

Today I started a 45 day “Healthy for the Holidays” challenge with my friends and teammates from It Works Global (my new job since I last wrote).¬† I began what I called, Operation Feel Good, last January and since then have been on a journey to “feeling better.” It began with embracing the Paleo diet and lifestyle and has taken on many new forms since then.

I found out a few months ago that I have Adrenal Fatigue and have been making efforts to work on it since then. I’ve not been doing very well. Some of the suggestions my Dr. gave were to sleep in until my body naturally wakes up (impossible with two small children and carpool duties!), have my feet up by 8:30 and be asleep by 10 pm. That almost never happens! I am also supposed to be taking three different Adrenal Fatigue supplements three times a day and two different vitamins twice a day. I am NOT GOOD about doing this and it’s finally catching up with me.

On day 1 of my challenge I feel:

1. Tired

2. A few pounds heavier than normal

3. In a rut

Here are my goals for the next 45 Days:

1. Work out once a week (next Monday I start my Yoga Ballet Booty Bootcamp class)!

2. Eat less Fast Food and more Paleo/Whole Foods (less rice/corn, fried foods, chips and more fruits, veggies, healthy meats).

3. Take my Dr. prescribed Adrenal Fatigue Supplements every day.

4. Take my vitamins every day. I’m so excited to start my It’s Vital Complete Nutrition packs which meet all of my daily vital nutrition needs with added nutrients and minerals, superior calcium absorption, and triple strength support for heart health, in one pre-measured daily pack.

5. Continue taking my Greens every day. I am already really good about this because I know how much better they make me feel! This ensures I get 8+ servings of fruits and vegetables a day, along with a blend of 38 herbs and nutrient-rich superfoods.

6. Take Confianza as needed for stress. I am still dealing with general anxiety and take medicine for it daily. I would LOVE to be able to stop this and just rely on the natural supplements given to me by my Dr. and from my company. What I love is all of our products are made from all natural ingredients, grown from organic, non-gmo plants, herbs and botanicals. Confianza is a naturally based supplement that increases your energy levels while reducing stress and fatigue. So far it’s been a life saver for me!

7. Try New You and Thermofit, some other supplements that help with things like improving your memory, and helping you to burn more calories when working out!

8. Drink at least 60 ounces of water a day. I’ve been really slacking on my water consumption and have been getting headaches more often (a sign of dehydration).

9. Take Fat Fighters as needed. These are great for after those cheat meals! They blocks some of the fat & carbs from meals and help balance healthy blood glucose level and reduce cravings.

10. Get more sleep! I know for me to feel my best I need at least 8 hours of sleep, so that is my goal!

You can follow my journey here and on my Operation Feel Good facebook page.

I invite you to join in!!

No Caffeine Challenge 1

So, here’s the deal. Caffeine makes me ANXIOUS.

I already have anxiety. I don’t need any help in this department.

Yet, I continue to drink it.

Every. Day.

Why?

I think that I think I need it.

But I don’t.

I DON’T NEED CAFFEINE TO GET THROUGH THE DAY.

(Maybe if I say it enough, I’ll start to believe it!)

Instead of caffeine, I plan on taking my vitamins and drinking my greens every morning.

I also recently found I have mild adrenal fatigue and will be treating that with supplements that will *hopefully* make me feel more like “myself” and have more energy.

Operation Feel Good is still under way and making progress!

Wish me luck.
